T1D Heros Patch Review: Are They Worth It? (Tested by a t1d!)

Finding the right diabetes patch can honestly make or break your experience with devices.

If it peels early, feels bulky, or irritates your skin… it’s just not worth the stress.

So when I came across T1D Heros patches, I was really curious to see how they compared to some of the bigger names I’ve used before.

I’ve now tested them properly, so here’s my honest review.

First Impressions of T1D Heros Patches

The first thing I noticed is how they feel good quality.

Not in an over-the-top way. Just simple, clean, and well made.

The designs are really nice too. Especially the floral range.

They’re not overly bright or “in your face” like some patches can be.

The colours feel much more balanced, which I personally prefer.

They look more like something you’d actually choose to wear.

How Do T1D Heros Patches Feel on the Skin?

This is always the big one for me.

I have quite sensitive skin, so I know pretty quickly if something isn’t right.

Luckily, these felt great.

The fabric on both the full-skin patches and the patterned ones is soft and flexible. It doesn’t feel stiff or overly medical.

They’re also quite slim.

That makes a big difference, because thicker patches can make your device feel bulky or more noticeable.

I’m personally less of a fan of patches with “too much” material! I want the patch to feel lighter on my skin.

I think this is also important if you're sweating in the heat! 

With these, I honestly forgot I was wearing one.

Do T1D Heros Patches Actually Stay On?

So far, yes.

I’ve worn one of the floral patches for a full 72 hours, and it held up really well.

No lifting around the edges. No peeling.

I’ve tested it through showers and a bath, and it stayed put the whole time.

The next real test will be a hot tub. That’s usually where weaker patches start to struggle, so I’ll be keeping an eye on that.

But based on what I’ve seen so far, the adhesion is definitely solid.

I also wore one of the "full skin" Freestyle Libre patches on my arm for 3 days, and I'd say the first 48 hours it's fully solid, but I think after showering frequenty during the duration of a sensor, it could possibly start to peel back around the edges.

Are They Good for Sensitive Skin?

From my experience so far, yes.

I had no irritation after wearing the patches for the duration of a sensor (5 days now). 

Obviously different sensors and pods last different durations! But I think this patch would confidently survive up to a week. 

No itching. No redness.

That’s always a big win.

Of course, everyone’s skin is different. But this is a really good sign, especially if you usually struggle with reactions.

However, it's always important to note, I can't guarentee your skin won't have a reaction.

Are T1D Heros Patches Waterproof?

Yes, T1D Heros patches are designed to be waterproof and sweat-resistant.

According to the brand, they’re made to hold up through:

• Showers
• Swimming
• Workouts
• Everyday life

So they’re definitely built for an active lifestyle.

My Experience So Far

From my own testing, this lines up.

I’ve worn one of their patches for 72 hours and it’s:

• Held up perfectly in the shower
• Been absolutely fine in a bath
• Had no lifting or peeling

Which is already a really good sign.

So while these are performing really well so far, I’m still testing them in tougher conditions like hot tubs to see how they hold up long-term.

Design Options and Style

This is where T1D Heros stands out a bit.

The floral patches are honestly my favourite.

They come in a wide range of colours, but they’re not overly bright. They feel more muted and stylish.

If you like switching things up or matching your patch to your outfit, you’ll enjoy these.

They also offer full-skin style patches if you want something more low-key.

So you’ve got options depending on your vibe.

What Types of Patches Do T1D Heros Make?

One thing I really like about T1D Heros is that they don’t just make “one type” of patch.

They’ve actually thought about different preferences, different devices, and different lifestyles.

So whether you want something bold, subtle, or barely noticeable… there’s a decent range to choose from.

Dexcom G7 Patches

If you’re using the Dexcom G7, T1D Heros has quite a few different styles to choose from.

Full-Skin Patches

These are designed to cover the entire sensor area.

So instead of seeing the Dexcom, the patch fully surrounds and blends over it.

These are great if:

• You want extra protection
• You prefer a more seamless look
• Or you just don’t want the sensor visible

They also tend to feel a bit more secure because of the full coverage.

Skin Patches (Cut-Out Style)

These leave a small space in the middle for the Dexcom to show.

So the patch sticks around the sensor, not over it.

This is a really popular style because:

• It reduces any pressure on the sensor itself
• You can still see your device clearly
• And it makes changing patches easier without disturbing the sensor

Clear Patches

If you want something super low-key, these are a great option.

They’re basically invisible once applied.

Perfect if you:

• Don’t want to draw attention to your device
• Prefer a clean, minimal look

USA / Patterned Designs

These are more on the fun side.

They do an American flag variation.

It’s a nice middle ground between:

• Fun personality
• But still not overly loud or “childish”

Overall, their Dexcom patches are designed to be:

• Breathable
• Flexible
• And suitable for everyday wear, workouts, and water exposure

Freestyle Libre 3 Patches

The Libre 3 range follows a very similar idea.

Simple. Practical. But still with options.

You’ll typically find:

• Full coverage patches
• Cut-out styles clear

These are made to:

• Keep the sensor secure
• Stay comfortable on the skin
• And hold up during daily life

Which is exactly what you want from a Libre patch.

From my experience with their materials so far, the softer fabric styles are the ones I naturally lean towards here too.

Omnipod Patches

This is where they feel slightly more focused.

Their Omnipod patches are designed specifically to give extra support and hold around the pod.

You’ll find:

• Full coverage styles - Skin line which gives an extra strip for support of the pod! (smart)
• Patterned options (like the floral ones I tested)
• And more subtle designs if you want something low-key

What I like here is that they don’t go overboard.

It’s not hundreds of designs. It’s more curated.

And honestly, I think that works in their favour.

My Take on the Range

What I like about T1D Heros is that it feels intentional.

Some brands go all in on bright colours and endless designs.

Others go super clinical.

These sit somewhere in the middle.

You get:

• Enough variety to suit your style
• But still a clean feel

Which, for me, is exactly what I want in a patch.

• Strong adhesion so far

• Still testing long-term durability (especially in hot tubs or heavy sweating)
• Not as wide of a range of styles of patches, but honestly for me, I think when a patch brand does of 30 varierties of styles and colours, it becomes a bit overwhelming!

From what I’ve seen, their Omnipod patches are usually around $19.95–$24.95 per pack, depending on the style you go for.

That puts them slightly on the higher end compared to some budget options, but very similar to other well-known brands.

Personally, I don’t mind paying a little more if:

• The patch actually lasts
• It’s comfortable
• And it doesn’t irritate my skin

For me, this comes down to performance.

If that continues in tougher conditions (like hot tubs and heavy sweating), then I’d happily keep using them at this price point.

Final Thoughts: Are T1D Heros Patches Worth It?

Honestly, I’m impressed.

They feel like a really nice balance between comfort, style, and performance.

Some patches are strong but uncomfortable. Others look great but don’t last.

These sit nicely in the middle.

If you want something that:

• Feels good on your skin
• Looks a bit more premium
• And actually stays on

Then they’re definitely worth trying.

I’ll keep testing them in tougher conditions, but first impressions are very strong.
